Calling all desi brides to be!

With the days getting shorter and the weather getting colder, the wedding season is officially upon us! And as it shall be, many of the brides-to-be are curious, jittery even!! The big question, apart from saying yes, becomes what to put in the bridal makeup kit! We are finally past that era when the pre-wedding time would be spent in nervous anticipation and crying, thank heavens!! And one of the more important duties and jobs becomes meticulously planning a kit that is not too expensive and caters to all your makeup needs!
But no worries!
Makeup Artist, Wafa Khan shared some basic makeup essentials for the bridal makeup kit. These are some of the products she recommended!

* Primers are an essential part of your makeup routine! A good primer not only ensures a smooth and even makeup application but helps your makeup to stay put for very long hours too. Plus primers go a long way as approximately a pea sized amount is sufficient. Wafa recommends Makeup Forever's Smoothing Primer and Loreal's Infalliable.

* A color corrector can significantly change the way you look! Many people fail to realize that concealer's can hide only so much. While concealer's can hide faint marks, the best way around pigmentation and hyper-pigmentation is a corrector. The best color for the general Pakistani skin tones is the orange shade. Wafa reommends Urban Decay, Kryolan 508 and LA girl. We too are Kryolan color corrector fans and use it religiously!
Here's how to color correct your skin tone!

*  We can all agree here on the indispensable need and importance of a good foundation. While many of you here like us are fan's of the Masarrat Misbah Silk Foundation, if you are looking for an alternative high end or drugstore foundation, Wafa has some reommendations to become a part of your bridal kit: Bobbi Brown, Rimmel Match Perfection, Armani Luminous Silk and Revlon Colorstay.
How to select the correct foundation for your skin tone?

* Conealer's help to brighten the face and add dimension. After the use of a high coverage foundation, concealers and bronzers help to add dimension to the face by creating lights and darks. Wafa recommends Tarte Shape Tape, Maybelline Fit Me, NARS and Makeup Atelier Paris.

* It is always recommended to use a translucent powder as post the high coverage foundations and other tinted products, a tinted powder can further make your face flat. A non-tinted powder will help ensure that your face keeps its dimension. Wafa recommends translucent powders like Laura Mercier, Coty Airspun and Gosh HD Powder.

* As mentioned before contour and bronze powders help to add dimension the face by sculpting and defining it. With very high coverage foundations, these are now a stable! You can try NARS, Hoola, Too Faced Chocolate Soleil.

* The 100 Watt glow is now as much a staple. For the bridal glow Wafa reommends MAC's Soft and Gentle (pearly pink) . Becca Champagne Pop (a muted gold). Wafa recommends at least one highlighter in gold and another in a pearl pink hue.

* Eyeshadow palettes over singles are undoubtedly a better option as they provide a variety of shades while customising your shade palette with individual colors can be much more time taking. Wafa recommends the Jaclyn Hill for its versatility in shades,  Too Faced chocolate bar because of its neutrals and finally the Tarte Tartlette in Bloom for some beautiful neutrals with a few golds, bronze a great selection of mattes and shimmers.

* For the eyeliner's Wafa suggests Inglot #77, Maybelline Master Ink and Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner.

* Mascara's add a beautiful dimension to the eyes. Some of her favorites are L'oreal Voluminous and Benefit They're Real.

* Glitter's can be a great addition to eye family. They help stand out your eye makeup like no other thing. Urban Decay's Heavy Metal and Stila are great options.

* Wafa recommends false lashes from Ardell and Salwa lashes.

* B;ushes are a mush have! It isimportant to build your blush collection is some staple shades like: red, pink, peach, mauve, terracotta. Wafa recommends Catrice and Massarat Misbah in Ballet Glow, MAC Gingerly, MAC Melba, or even a blush palette. Tarte for palettes is good alternative.
Masarat Misbah's Stay On Blusher in Ballet Glow is a personal favorite of our's and is also a dupe to NAR's Orgasm:

* For lip liners these colors are some of the staples: red, brown, pink, brick, nude, deep pink.

* For lipsticks it is always best to try a variety of shades and formulas and opt for the ones you think work best for you. Staples: red, pink, peach, nude, berry. MAC Ruby Woo, MAC Velvet Teddy, MAC Diva, Maybelline Nottingham Nude, MAC Rebel and MAC Faux.

Medora of pakistan has great shades too at very affordable rates:

*Wafa recommends the setting spray in Urban Decay All Nighter.

Finally, it becomes very important to rely on your own opinion. A product no matter how good, sometimes does not work out with your skin's chemistry. At other times, a color may not flatter you. So it is important to keep trying and opt for colors that you know from experience compliment you. No one  knows your face better than you!
