How To Use:
  1. Take 1 tablespoon of Orglow and add 1 tablespoon of fresh yogurt in it to make a paste. (You can also use milk instead of yogurt)
  2. Add two drops of rose water if you have oily skin and two drops of glycerine if you have dry skin.
  3. Apply the mixture on your face and leave it for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Gently take it off with water. (Do Not rub off, specially if you have sensitive skin)
My Experience:
Orglow is a product of Salina Cosmetics. In addition to being the marketing and distribution agent for brands like Barry M cosmetics UK and Hand & Nail Harmony USA they have launched two of their own face masks, Orglow and Clearglow. Orglow is the all natural, all organic face mask, that tightens, brightens and whitens!
Orglow comes in a white plastic container which I didn't like. Its not like I was expecting high end packaging just that it appears a bit cheap. Even the lid of mine was not manufactured properly.
The mask itself is grainy. The ingredients include lactose products, milk, yogurt, various nuts and dry fruits and powdered herbs. All organic ingredients is the biggest plus. Since this is the type of mask a person uses regularly, its better to know you are not applying God knows what chemicals on your face that frequently.
Unlike other masks, this one has a strong odour and an unpleasant one at that. Though I think it does not smell as bad to the person who has applied it, rather to the ones around that person. Silly thing I know, but its good news for those with annoying siblings hovering close by.
Now for the big question. Does this mask provide results up to par with its claims? Yes it does. It provides a soothing and relaxing sensation when applied. Just 10 minutes do the magic and the resulting brightness is easily visible. Afterwards the skin feels fresh, clean and hydrated. I do add rosewater for my combination skin but I think that those with dry might not have to add glycerine specially in these summer months since the ingredients mentioned themself are very hydrating. I did not experience any breakouts due to this mask.
It also helps exfoliate the skin because of the grainy particles. I sometimes rub it on my nose to clear out the occasional blackheads. Another thing I noticed is that rubbing it slightly makes the result much better. But if you go over broad with the rubbing you get scratched and red skin. Just try to be as gentle as possible. I won't recommend it to those with sensitive skin though.
Orglow can also be used as body polish. Just mix it with a bit of water and rub over your body.

Pros:

  • Instant brightening effect.
  • Organic ingredients
  • Acts as exfoliant.
  • Not drying or oily.
Cons:

  • Smells very bad.
  • Packaging is not attractive.
Price & Availability: Each jar of Orglow costs Rs 850 and can be bought online from Orglow's facebook page or from Salina Cosmetics' website.
My Rating: 4.5/5

Have you used Orglow? How did you find the results?

Love,
Hira.

  3. I always like trying out masks which promise to brighten skin since I think my face is a little dull without makeup. Good to hear this is at least exfoliating and refreshing.
