1. Au Naturel Skins!
For a blended makeup look, you have to have a base that will distribute your makeup evenly and blend is effortlessly. Try Laura Merceir's makeup Primer.
You can also use Essence Cosmetics Color Control UV Makeup Base. This is one of our favourite bases. It keeps the face moisturised and imparts a dewy finish to the face.
Next apply your foundation. The purpose of a foundation is to even out your skin tone and hide the flaws. Use a densely packed, flat kabuki brush and apply the foundation in circular motions. The bristles will absorb the extra product and the circular motion will allow the foundation to melt and blend in seamlessly. You can use a sponge to blend your foundation as well but they tend waste a lot of product so it is best to avoid them. We love to use the Sigma F82 kabuki brush. The evenly cut bristles help to buff the foundation in your skin. Start in the center of your face and work your way towards the edges.
2. Dewy skin!
Spotlighting was another trend rampant on the red carpet! Scarlet Johannson and Nicole Kidman were seen with dewy faces.
Spotlighting is rather the natural take on highlighting. It involves highlighting the points on the face, where natural light actually hits. Since, it gives a natural, lit from within glow, you need to use a product that will impart a glow to your face without any shimmery particles.
Start by applying a serum or an extra moisturizing nourishing primer on your face. This will help to impart a lit from with in glow to your face. It will also ensure that your makeup goes on effortlessly and blends to give a seamless finish, aka buffing.
Next finish off by highlighting your cheek bones, your brow bones, the tip of your nose and your cupid's bow! Remember not to use a shimmery highlighter.
For the best results, skip powder. Instead use a makeup setting spray with a dewy finish! Try NYX's setting spray in dewy. It has a comfortable and light weight formula that helps to keep your makeup put for long hours and offers a nice glow as well.

3. Bold Pouts!
2017 is the year for bolder pouts! Actresses like Emma Stone, Brie Larson, Nicole Kidman and more graced the red carpet in varying shades of red and more statement colors. The color was rampant and seemed to be the priority choice for the evening.

4. Diffused Eye Makeup
Gone is the time for sharp lines! This season was all about blended looks. For this start by lining your eyes with kohl or eyeliner and smoke it out with a series of nude eye shadows. This look is easier to work with and easier to sport. You don't need to be precise with this look! It is effortless in style.
5. Tightlining
With the 'natural take on beauty', there was more focus on the eyes. To add more dimension and depth to the face, eyes were tightlined with a range of colors. In the image above, Scarlet Johansson's lower water line has been tightlined in white. The shade helps to 'open' her eyes.
