Essence Glossy Lip Balm in Raspberry Sorbet- Swatch |
With the weather getting colder day by day, lip balms are a must for the dry and chapped lips. Essence Glossy Lip Balm is one of the numerous products that exist to serve your lips. It is available in a wide range of colors/flavors. The squeezable plastic tube that contains 8ml of the product is very practical and travel friendly.
I got the Glossy Lip Balm in shade Raspberry Sorbet which has a sweet berry smell and taste to it. It has a very light, pale pink color to it that hardly shows up at my lips. The silver glitter particles in it really put me off. These particles are not very visible after application but are big enough that I can feel them grinding between my lips and it is not something I like.
Essence glossy Lip Balm stays on my lips for about two hours but its sweet smell lingers for quite some time after that. The lip balm does not feel sticky on my lips but does feel slightly heavier than Maybelline's Baby Lips. And I definitely think that as long as it stays on my lips, Essence Glossy Lip Balm hydrates them better than the latter.
To sum it up, Essence Glossy Lip Balm does a fine job of hydrating your lips considering the price. Its not for you if you are looking for more color in your lip balms.
Pros:
- Has a sweet berry smell.
- Hydrates better than most lip balms.
- Gives the finish of a gloss.
- Packaging is easy to carry around.
- Has really big glitter particles in it.
- Have to reapply after every 2 hours or so.
- The color does not really show on lips.
My Rating:3.5/5

Thank you for the appreciation Momina :)
DeleteI prefer the luscious glosses over this one. They're very moisturizing and the color actually shows.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried those yet Kiran. Will look for those when I go shopping next time :)

looks like a nice balm..:)
ReplyDeleteI agree that this lip balm doesn't provide long lasting hydration but still its overall a good combination of gloss and balm. I might wanna try the darker shades in this range..
ReplyDeleteI also liked the concept of a lip balm and a gloss in one product.
DeleteNice review, i have this balm in mint and agree with you it is not long lasting.
