RIVAJ UK EYESHADOW BASE

Today I will be reviewing Rivaj Uk Eyeshadow Base/ Eyeshadow Sealer. Does it, in PKR 190, deliver what any eyeshadow primer out there promises? Keep on reading to find out.

My Experience:
I am not really an eyeshadow person. The only reason I bought this eyeshadow sealer (read haul post) was because my curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to see what a product of this price could actually do. Judgy, right?
The product comes in a round, transparent container with a doe foot applicator. The product itself is liquidy with a milky white color which of course is transparent when applied.
In my opinion what a primer does is provide a smooth surface for application of shadows, a base for them to adhere to, make the color appear vibrant and increase the wear time. Rivaj Uk eyeshadow sealer does provide a smooth surface for application and eyeshadows do adhere better to eyes with this primer applied underneath. But this is not a big plus for me as the same results can be achieved with a concealer applied on the lids. As you can see in the swatches above it does not enhance the color or pigmentation of shimmery shades but adds a pop to the matte colors. This earned it a big plus one from me. The max I have worn Rivaj Uk Eyeshadow sealer is 4 hours and it kept my eye makeup in place, without any creasing. What I would like to mention here is that my eyes are not very oily and it is fairly 6 hours before I ever face any eye makeup issues.
This primer is oil based and after few hours of just sitting there, its oils start to float on top which is not a pretty sight and makes shaking before use a must. This also means that if you apply too much, rather than helping, it will create a mess. I dab the applicator four times on my lid and then spread the product using my finger. As I mentioned earlier, my lids are not oily so the ones with oily lids will have to be extra careful with this product. Still, my personal opinion is that this product will not fare well on oily lids.
That being said, I think this product is a true definition of value for money. For the price I paid, it does deliver.

Positives:
  • Eyeshadow looks packed together.
  • Provides a smooth surface for eyeshadow application.
  • Provides a base for eyeshadows to adhere to.
  • Brightens matte shadows.
  • Keeps the eyeshadows from creasing.
  • Easy to use.
  • Budget friendly.
  • Easily available.
Negatives:
  • Not suitable for use on oily lids.
  • Oils separate from the product.
Price and Availability: Rivaj Uk Eyeshadow Sealer retails at the price of PKR 190 (approx $2- price may have changed now). Rivaj Uk is easily available throughout the country. It can also be bought online from Eye Love Makeup.

My Rating: 3.5/5

Love,
Hira.

  1. This is so affordable and the results are pretty good. I am not much of an eyeshadow girl, so I don't usually buy eye primers or stuff. This one is so budget friendly and there's no harm in trying :)

  6. I've only started using eyeshadow primers when I got my first full eyeshadow palette haha and this is the first time I've heard of this brand or product. The oil based part definitely is not good for me because I have an oily eyelids unfortunately. x

  19. First of all, "doe foot" is the best thing ever, thank you for teaching me that phrase!! Second, this is a beautiful looking product. I'm not big on eye shadows either but I adore a good cream version! #GIGLove

  20. This looks like a good one but if this is not suited for oily eyelids then this would not be suited for most of the people!! Big disadvantage :( Thanks for an honest review hun :)

  26. I never had any good experience with lipstick sealer, not sure I would risk tying an eyeshadow sealer.

  33. I have oily lids, so I always have to make sure to put an eye primer on whether I'm using shadow or eyeliner. The first one I bought was from ELF but it still made my shadows crease :/
